Bronze Dacelo

THE PHOTO:
A bronze sculpture/cast of an Australian Kookaburra displayed at a recent garden show in Melbourne.

POST PROCESSING:
Preprocessed in LightRoom (tint, temperature adjust, red hue shift, white balance, vignette, vibrance, clarity, black clipping, exposure adjust, toning/luminance, sharpen) then DFx2 filters in Photoshop with additional vignette, levels, curves, sharpening, minor cloning, warm filter and crop.

Mallacoota Scene

Taken from the jetty at Mallacoota as we travelled from Melbourne to Sydney some weeks back.

POST PROCESSING:
I have to admit, I didn't frame this photo as perfectly as I should have when I took it - but I was in tourist snapshot mode. I've distorted the painted scene to match the horizon lines, rotated, levels/curves and sharpened.

Suspended Bokeh

An interesting display at the Melbourne International Flower show held over the last couple of days at the Royal Exhibition Building. This shot of suspended glass baubles made for a great macro/bokeh opportunity, and I do like bokeh opportunities.

Preprocessed in LightRoom - crop/rotate, levels, clarity, vignette. Additional curves and sharpening.

Coming Out

THE PHOTO:
An Agapantha flower in partial bloom. I keep getting these mixed up with Clivia Miniata. This is a common, almost weed-like flowering plant in Melbourne. Their short-lived blooms are almost like fireworks.

POST PROCESSING:
Pre-processing in Lightroom (RAW), levels, curves, sharpen, crop.

OTHER:
It seems as though work/life balance has dictated a few sparse posting schedule for the foreseeable future, down from a couple of times a week to almost once a month. I seem to hit these lulls every few years. Here's hoping this one doesn't persist for too long.
